The Nexus Connection is the blog and learning hub from Nexus Educate — a small, specialist provider of online, liberal-arts courses for home-educated students.
We created this space to support families who want more than just a curriculum. Whether you’re new to home education or years into your journey, this blog offers insight, encouragement, and practical advice grounded in experience.
Here you’ll find:
Tips and reflections on learning and teaching
Independent study strategies for teens
Guidance on IGCSEs, coursework, and exam preparation
Articles that explore the value of the humanities
Real voices from students, families, and educators
We know from experience that learners are happier when they have some ownership of their learning because they have had some choice in their curriculum. They are more likely to engage when they know how learning fits into the bigger picture and how it connects to other areas of the curriculum. They are more likely to achieve when they are interested in the content and understand why they are learning it.
We believe in empowering students to think critically, learn actively, and develop resilience so that they grow in confidence with the commitment to achieve their goals. We know many parents share these aims but are navigating the path without a roadmap.
The Nexus Connection is written by travellers who have completed same journey. Here we share our knowledge on the paths available to various destinations and the pitfalls and pleasures of each one. We hope we can be useful on your journey or just keep you company along the way.
